Privacy Policy

Effective 10 May 2026

This page explains what personal information DIVURJ collects when you visit divurj.com, download the RATMODE beta, or email us, why we collect it, how it is used, and the rights you have over it. We try to keep this plain-spoken. If anything is unclear, write to us at the address at the bottom and we will explain.

Who we are

DIVURJ is an independent project operating from the United Kingdom and is the data controller for personal information collected through divurj.com. Contact for any privacy matter — including the rights listed below — is hello@divurj.com.

What we collect

We try to collect as little personal information as possible. We only ever collect what you actively give us, plus a small amount of technical information that is needed to run the site safely.

Download form: when you ask to download the RATMODE beta, we collect your email address and the fact that you accepted our Terms and Privacy Policy and acknowledged the beta-stage caveats. That's it.

Emails you send us: if you choose to email hello@divurj.com — for example to send feedback or ask a question — we receive whatever you put in that email. We treat it like normal email and only use it to read what you wrote and reply.

Server logs: when you load a page or submit the download form, our hosting provider (Vercel) records the request — including your IP address, approximate location, browser user-agent, the page requested, and a timestamp. These logs are retained by Vercel for a short period for security and debugging and are not used by us to profile you.

Visitor analytics: we use Vercel Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they look at, so we can keep things fast and decide what to build next. Vercel Analytics is privacy-preserving by design — it does not set cookies, does not track you across other sites, and does not store your raw IP address or device fingerprint.

We do not use advertising trackers, behavioural cookies, or third-party marketing pixels on this site. The site stores a small preference in your browser's local storage if you use the (currently hidden) developer theme switcher; this never leaves your device.

Why we collect it, and our legal basis

Download form: to keep a record of who has the beta in case we need to reach you about a serious issue with the build, and to send you the occasional product update relating to RATMODE — beta fixes, important changes, and the launch announcement. Our legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the boxes and submitting the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights" below).

Emails you send us: to read what you wrote, to reply, and to act on any feedback or bug reports. Our legal basis is your consent (you chose to email us) and our [[legitimate interests]] in supporting people using RATMODE.

Server logs: to keep the site secure, debug problems, and prevent abuse. Our legal basis is legitimate interests in operating a secure website.

Visitor analytics: to understand how many people are using the site and which content is working. Because Vercel Analytics is anonymous and cookieless, our legal basis is [[legitimate interests]] in measuring basic site performance.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone for marketing purposes.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to actually run the site. Each one only sees the data it needs to do its job:

Vercel Inc. (United States) — hosts the website, processes the request logs described above, and provides the cookieless visitor analytics.

Resend (United States) — when you submit the download form, Resend delivers an internal notification email to our inbox so we have a record of the download. The email contains the address you submitted and the time of submission.

Namecheap (United States) — provides the mailbox at hello@divurj.com where we receive both Resend notifications and any email you send us directly.

These providers are bound by their own contractual and legal obligations to protect your data, including standard contractual clauses for transfers outside the UK / EEA where required.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DIVURJ, our users, or others.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for no longer than necessary for the purposes described above. As a guideline, download-form email addresses are kept while the beta is active and for twelve months after launch, after which they are deleted unless you have asked us to keep you on the mailing list or have become a paying customer. Direct emails to hello@divurj.com are kept for as long as the conversation is useful and then archived or deleted on a rolling basis. Vercel server logs are retained for the short period set by Vercel, and Vercel Analytics aggregates visitor data without keeping any individual record of you. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data-protection law you have the right to:

Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.

Have your information deleted ("right to be forgotten").

Restrict or object to how we use your information.

Receive your information in a portable, machine-readable format.

Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the legal basis.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@divurj.com from the address you signed up with. We will respond within one calendar month.

If you believe we have mishandled your information, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk — though we would always rather you came to us first so we can put things right.

Cookies and tracking

We do not set any tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party marketing pixels on this site. We use Vercel Analytics to count visitors and pageviews; it is cookieless and does not identify you across other sites. The site uses your browser's local storage only to remember an optional theme preference (currently a developer-only feature) and uses first-party functional state required for the page to work. None of this is used to identify or profile you.

Children

RATMODE is intended for adults making music. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and revise the effective date at the top. For significant changes affecting people who have already signed up, we will also email you in advance so you can decide whether to stay on the list.
